Monday, June 17, 6 p.m., BOOK BEAT EVENT with Dave Liniger, the co-founder of RE/MAX, the global real estate franchise, and author of The New York Times best-selling book, titled “My Next Step: An Extraordinary Journey of Healing and Hope.”
It’s an incredible story about how he fought for his life against a steph infection so deadly, his doctors gave him only a 5 percent chance of survival. He was nearly brought down by a disease that began with something as trivial as a cut on his arm after a fall in his garage. It began in January 2012, when he woke up in the middle of the night and found he was paralyzed from the neck down and in excruciating pain. He endured three critical surgeries along the way.
The book also tells about how Liniger, an Indiana farm boy who “didn’t want to spend the rest of my life milking cows” ended up creating and running a company that’s responsible for more home sales than any other in the world.
He and his wife, Gail, founded RE/MAX in 1973, when Dave Liniger was 27. Liniger is known for his vast knowledge of the real estate market and influence on housing policy.
