I call your attention to a fascinating Book Beat Luncheon topic next Monday, April 26: authors Robert W. McChesney and John Nichols, who have written, "The Death and Life of American Journalism: The Media Revolution that Will Begin the World Again." Please sign up on blacktie-colorado.com, as we're serving lunch and there is a modest cost.
OTHER DPC NOTES:
(1) What's that? Tickets to see the renowned Capitol Steps cost just $45.50? Wow, I can't believe it!
The club is producing the group's appearance on Sunday, May 16, at the Newman Center on the DU campus - and we ask you not only to buy tickets, but also to share the information with family members, friends, colleagues - everyone in your network.
It's musical political satire at its best, skewering both sides of the political aisle. There are good reasons why the Capitol Steps are nationally known.
An event of this scope - we can sell more than 900 tickets -- is a first for the club. I've seen the Capitol Steps perform twice, and they're hilarious.
Please see complete details below under May 16.
(2) Welcome to new members: Debra Levy, Jeni Anderson, Alice Harris, Ginnie Kontnik, Mike Harris, Stacy Lynch, Drew Jaynes, Karla Johnson, Lisa Glass, Kelly Maher, Colin Wheeler, Jill Hollingsworth, Dan Lewis PLUS the Runyon scholarship winners: Arianna Ranahosseini, Emery Cowan, Adriana Carlson, Mitchell Woll, Bill Dagendesh and Aaron Hedge.
