We have a big week ahead of us prior to taking a one-week hiatus - and the busy schedule in what's usually one of the quietest weeks of the year speaks to the club's growing reputation as a great, affordable place to hold your event.
Hope to see you at my 60th birthday party on Thursday night, when you can ask me how the heck I still can have movie-star looks despite my age.
More Denver Press Club notes:
- The club has made a cross-promotional agreement with the Denver Forum. Each has posted a link to the other on their respective websites. Also, DPC members can pay the member price for the Denver Forum events, and vice versa. Please note that the first Denver Forum event under this arrangement - Ed Perlmutter this Friday, Aug. 27, has an Aug. 26 reservation deadline. It will be at the Oxford Hotel, in the Sage Room.
- I will predict that the Hall of Fame dinner (Sept. 24) will be a sellout, based on the fact that ticket sales are moving perhaps the fastest in the 15-year history of the event. So ACT NOW to buy your tickets. Once they are sold out, that's it, because we'll be at capacity upstairs.
- We have added a www.blacktie-colorado.com link for the Rick Reilly Book Beat luncheon on Sept. 9.
